Why Can not My Live DJ Take Over From AutoDJ?

Troubleshoot a live DJ who cannot take over a station that is currently running AutoDJ.

Check Whether AutoDJ Is Still Active

A live encoder may be unable to take control if AutoDJ is still actively connected to the stream. Verify the current station status before attempting the handoff.

Use the Correct Handoff Procedure

Follow the handoff procedure provided for your digiSTREAM service. The goal is to avoid having two sources compete for the same stream at the same time.

Verify the Live Encoder Settings

Confirm the DJ is using the correct server, port, encoder type, and password. See SAM Broadcaster Encoder Settings or the appropriate software guide.

Confirm the Previous Source Has Released the Connection

After stopping AutoDJ, allow the server a moment to release the previous source before connecting the live encoder. Repeatedly starting and stopping both sources can create confusing connection errors.

Returning to AutoDJ

When the live show ends, disconnect the live encoder and start or resume AutoDJ according to your service configuration.
