Look for the Reason, Not Just the Restart
If AutoDJ starts and then stops, the log around the exact stop time is often the most valuable evidence. Save the relevant message before restarting the service.
1. Check for Problem Files
A damaged or unsupported audio file can cause playback problems. If AutoDJ stops when reaching the same track repeatedly, remove that track from the active playlist and test again.
2. Check Playlist Configuration
Verify that the playlist is valid, enabled, and contains playable files. Review scheduled playlists if the station stops at a predictable time.
3. Check Server Resources
A heavily loaded server can affect media processing. If you have access to server monitoring, check CPU, memory, and disk space around the failure time.
4. Review Liquidsoap Messages
Liquidsoap is part of the AutoDJ audio chain. Errors involving sources, decoders, permissions, output connections, or processing should be investigated before changing unrelated settings.
When It Needs Server-Side Help
If AutoDJ continues stopping with a repeatable process or Liquidsoap error, provide the relevant log entry to digiSTREAM support rather than repeatedly restarting the service.
