AutoDJ Playlist Isn't Playing

Troubleshoot an AutoDJ playlist that exists but is not actually playing music.

Quick Tip: Start with the first checklist item and change one thing at a time. This makes it much easier to identify what actually fixed the problem.

Confirm the Playlist Is Active

A playlist can exist without being enabled or scheduled for the current time. Check its status and schedule in Centova Cast.

Check That the Playlist Contains Tracks

Open the playlist and verify that tracks are present. If the playlist is empty, AutoDJ may have nothing to send even though the service itself is running.

Check Scheduling

If the playlist is scheduled, verify the current time, start and end times, days, and priority settings. A schedule can prevent a playlist from becoming active when expected.

Check Track Availability

Make sure the referenced tracks still exist in the AutoDJ music library and are playable. Removed or inaccessible files can result in tracks being skipped.

Test With a Simple Playlist

For troubleshooting, create or enable a small playlist containing several known-good MP3 files. If the simple playlist works, the original playlist configuration or its files deserve closer inspection.

Helpful information to provide support:
  • The exact error message, if one is displayed.
  • Your streaming server port.
  • Whether AutoDJ or a live DJ is currently connected.
  • What changed immediately before the problem began.
  • The approximate time the problem occurred.
