Why a Rescan Is Needed
Uploading a file to a server does not always mean AutoDJ immediately has the track available in its library or playlists. A library scan allows the control panel to discover newly added files and update its catalog.
1. Upload the Music First
Place your supported audio files in the station's designated AutoDJ music area using the control panel's upload tools or the method provided by your hosting environment.
2. Start the Library Scan
Use the music library or media management controls in Centova Cast to scan or rescan the music collection. The exact button wording can vary by Centova Cast configuration.
3. Verify the Tracks
After the scan completes, search for one or two of the files you added. Check that the title and artist information are present and that the files can be selected for a playlist.
4. Add the Tracks to a Playlist
A library scan makes files available; it does not necessarily add them to every playlist. Update the appropriate playlist or rotation after confirming the tracks are present.
If Tracks Still Do Not Appear
Check the file format, file permissions, filename, and any errors reported during the scan. If a file repeatedly fails to import, test with a known-good MP3 file.
