Check the Status Message First
Do not repeatedly click Start without checking the message or log produced by the failed start. The reason AutoDJ will not start is usually more useful than the fact that it stopped.
1. Check the Music Library
Make sure the station has playable audio files and that the AutoDJ configuration points to the correct library or playlist.
2. Check the Playlist
Confirm that at least one valid playlist is enabled and contains tracks. An empty or disabled playlist can leave AutoDJ without anything to play.
3. Check for Configuration Errors
Review recent AutoDJ or Liquidsoap messages for configuration, permission, decoder, or connection errors. Do not delete logs before saving the relevant error message.
4. Check for a Stale Process
If AutoDJ crashed, an old process or lock condition can sometimes complicate a restart. This is a server-side condition that may require support intervention.
If It Still Will Not Start
Send support the exact startup error and the time it occurred. If possible, include the station port and whether AutoDJ had been working previously.
Still Having Problems?
If the problem continues after checking the items above, digiSTREAM support can help determine whether the issue is related to the encoder, AutoDJ, streaming server, or network.
- The exact error message, if one is displayed.
- Your streaming server port.
- Whether AutoDJ or a live DJ is currently connected.
- What changed immediately before the problem began.
- The approximate time the problem occurred.
