What This Tells You
If listeners can hear the station, the server and listener side are at least partially reachable. The problem is more likely to be with the DJ's encoder settings, credentials, source connection, or network path.
1. Verify the DJ Server Address and Port
Compare the DJ's encoder settings with the exact server hostname and port assigned to the station. A typo in either value can prevent the connection.
2. Verify the Credentials
Check the correct source or DJ credentials for the connection being used. An authentication failure can occur even while the public stream remains online.
3. Check Whether AutoDJ Is Active
If AutoDJ is currently connected, determine how live DJ handoff is configured. The DJ may need to use a specific source or takeover procedure.
4. Search the Exact Error
If SAM displays an error number, search the number in the Knowledge Base. Error 10061, 10060, 10054, 401, and 11001 each point toward different areas of troubleshooting.
If Only One DJ Has the Problem
If another DJ can connect using the same station information, compare the working and non-working encoder settings. This is often faster than changing server settings.
Still Having Problems?
If the problem continues after checking the items above, digiSTREAM support can help determine whether the issue is related to the encoder, AutoDJ, streaming server, or network.
- The exact error message, if one is displayed.
- Your streaming server port.
- Whether AutoDJ or a live DJ is currently connected.
- What changed immediately before the problem began.
- The approximate time the problem occurred.
