Mixxx Won't Connect to SHOUTcast

Troubleshoot a Mixxx broadcast that will not connect to a digiSTREAM SHOUTcast server.

Check the Four Most Important Settings

1. Host: Enter the server hostname or IP address only.
2. Port: Enter the assigned broadcast port.
3. Login: Use the login required by the server.
4. Password: Use the correct broadcast/source password.

Mixxx specifically warns not to enter a URL such as http://example.com:8000 in the Host field. The hostname and port must be entered separately.

Check the Server

Make sure your digiSTREAM station is online and that you are using the correct port. A wrong port can look like a password or software problem.

Check Your Network

Temporarily test the connection without other network changes. If other software also cannot reach the server, investigate the network path rather than Mixxx itself.

If It Still Fails

Record the exact Mixxx error, host, port, and approximate time of the failed attempt. Do not send your password in a support request.
