Can Multiple DJs Use the Same SHOUTcast Station?

Understand how multiple live DJs can share a digiSTREAM station and what each DJ needs before connecting.

One Stream at a Time

A SHOUTcast source connection is normally controlled by one active live source at a time. Multiple DJs can share a station, but they should not attempt to broadcast simultaneously to the same source.

Create Separate DJ Credentials When Available

If your Centova Cast configuration supports separate DJ accounts, giving each DJ their own credentials makes it easier to manage access and troubleshoot individual connections.

Give Each DJ the Correct Connection Information

Each DJ needs the correct server address, streaming port, encoder type, and credentials for the station. Do not confuse DJ credentials with the Centova Cast control-panel login.

Coordinate Show Changes

For back-to-back shows, have the outgoing DJ disconnect before the incoming DJ connects. This reduces conflicts and makes the handoff predictable.

If One DJ Can Connect but Another Cannot

Compare the working DJ’s server, port, password, and encoder settings with the DJ who is having trouble. Then search the exact error code in the Knowledge Base.
