LadioCast — Connect to digiSTREAM SHOUTcast (Mac)

Use LadioCast on macOS to send mixed audio to a compatible SHOUTcast source.

Before you start

Have your digiSTREAM source hostname, port, password and allowed bitrate ready. LadioCast supports SHOUTcast source streaming, but the developer previously documented SHOUTcast v1 protocol behavior. Check your server’s compatibility and the current application interface.

Configure an encoder

  1. Open LadioCast on your Mac.
  2. Open its stream/encoder configuration and select a SHOUTcast destination.
  3. Enter the server hostname, source port and password provided by digiSTREAM.
  4. Choose MP3 and a bitrate permitted by your hosting plan.
  5. Save the destination and start the stream using the control provided in your version.
LadioCast labels and control locations can differ by version. If your SHOUTcast v2 server does not accept a legacy SHOUTcast v1 source, ask digiSTREAM about supported connection methods.

Route audio through the mixer

Select the correct input device in LadioCast’s audio mixer and route it to the encoder bus. Check the input and bus meters while playing a test source. If audio comes from another Mac application, an appropriate virtual audio device may be needed.

Verify the stream

Confirm the encoder reports a connection, then open your digiSTREAM public listener link and listen for sound. A connected encoder alone does not prove that the audio routing is correct.
