SAM Broadcaster Error 10061 — Connection Refused

Error 10061 means the destination actively refused the connection. Spacial groups it with 10060 as a server/connection configuration problem.

What It Means

SAM reached the destination address, but the destination refused the connection.

Error: SAM Broadcaster Error 10061

Possible Causes

  • The DNAS/streaming service is not running.
  • The port is incorrect.
  • The server is refusing connections.
  • The stream is already sourced.
  • The network or firewall is blocking the connection.

How to Troubleshoot

  1. Verify that the DNAS is running.
  2. Verify the exact server address and port.
  3. Verify the password.
  4. Check whether another encoder is already connected to the source.
  5. Verify that outgoing connections from SAM are allowed.
  6. Reconnect after correcting the configuration.
Important:

Change one setting at a time whenever possible. This makes it much easier to determine what corrected the problem.

Additional Notes

Unlike 10060, 10061 is a refusal rather than simply a timeout.
