What It Means
The streaming server rejected SAM's source authentication.
Error: SAM Broadcaster Error 401
Possible Causes
- The source password is incorrect.
- The password was changed on the streaming server but not in SAM.
- SAM is connecting to the wrong server/port.
- The encoder is using credentials intended for another stream.
How to Troubleshoot
- Verify the SHOUTcast source password.
- Verify the server hostname/IP and port.
- Make sure SAM is connecting to the intended stream.
- Re-enter the password carefully rather than relying on an old saved value.
- Reconnect SAM.
- If the password is unknown, obtain the correct configuration from the streaming provider.
Important:
Change one setting at a time whenever possible. This makes it much easier to determine what corrected the problem.

Additional Notes
