RadioBOSS SHOUTcast Connection Errors

RadioBOSS reports broadcasting failures in its report/log and identifies the encoder output that failed. Use the exact error message to narrow down the cause before changing settings.

Find the Exact Error

Open Settings → Options → Broadcast, select the affected encoder, and review the RadioBOSS report/log. Record the error number and the output/encoder number. The same station can have more than one encoder, so verify which one is failing.

Error 2100 — Password Incorrect

The RadioBOSS manual identifies Error 2100 as an incorrect password. Carefully re-enter the password supplied for that particular encoder connection. Check for leading/trailing spaces and make sure you are not using a listener URL or unrelated control-panel password.

If you use a separate DJ account, use the credentials and connection details configured for that DJ account.

Error 2 — Server Address or Port

The RadioBOSS manual says Error 2 can indicate that the server is unavailable or the server address is incorrect. Check:

  • Hostname/IP is spelled correctly.
  • The broadcast port is correct.
  • The Server field does not include an unnecessary http:// prefix.
  • Your Internet connection is working.
  • A local firewall or security program is not blocking RadioBOSS.

If the address and port are correct but the error continues, contact digiSTREAM Support to check the service.

Error -1 — Possible Existing Connection

The RadioBOSS manual notes that Error -1 commonly occurs when another connection is already connected to the server. Check whether another copy of RadioBOSS, another DJ, or another encoder is using the same connection. Do not disconnect another DJ without coordinating with the station owner.

Depending on your service setup, a live DJ may need to use the designated live-broadcast connection rather than the AutoDJ connection.

Other Errors

For any other error, use the exact message rather than guessing. Check the server, port, password, selected server type, encoder format, and whether the server is expecting a live DJ connection. Then share the error and test time with digiSTREAM Support. Never include your password in a public message.
