RadioBOSS Connects but There Is No Audio
If RadioBOSS reports that it is connected but your digiSTREAM stream is silent, check the source RadioBOSS is sending, whether playback is running, and whether the correct stream is being monitored.
1. Confirm RadioBOSS Is Playing
- Start a known-good audio track in the main playlist.
- Confirm the track is advancing and the RadioBOSS playback meter responds.
- Try a local audio file you know plays correctly.
If RadioBOSS itself is not playing audio, resolve local playback first before changing SHOUTcast settings.
2. Check the Encoder Source
In Settings → Options → Broadcast, inspect the Source setting. Audio mix sends the audio playing through the RadioBOSS playlist by default. An Input source sends audio from the selected sound-card input instead.
If you intend to broadcast the playlist but an input is selected, the stream may be silent. If you intend to broadcast a physical mixer or microphone, make sure the correct input is connected and configured in RadioBOSS.
3. Confirm You Are Listening to the Correct Stream
Use the public listener link for the same station and server that RadioBOSS is connected to. A live DJ port, an AutoDJ stream, and a listener URL are not necessarily the same address or port.
Test the listener link in a separate player or browser. If possible, ask another person to test it too.
4. Check Server and Encoder Status
- Read the RadioBOSS report for new errors after connecting.
- Confirm the encoder remains connected and is not repeatedly disconnecting.
- Confirm the selected encoder format and bitrate are supported by your service.
- If AutoDJ is running, verify that the live DJ connection has actually taken over the stream as expected.
When to Contact Support
If the encoder stays connected but the public stream remains silent, send digiSTREAM Support the exact RadioBOSS status/error text, the time of the test, and whether AutoDJ was running. Do not include passwords.
