SignalCaster — Icecast Setup Overview (Mac)
An overview of SignalCaster’s documented Icecast workflow and why it differs from SHOUTcast.
Check your destination first
SignalCaster’s settings offer an Icecast streaming destination. This guide applies only if you have access to an actual Icecast server. Do not enter your digiSTREAM SHOUTcast details into an Icecast connection and assume it will work.
Configure a documented Icecast destination
- Open SignalCaster and select its settings drawer.
- Choose an audio source such as Local Player, App Capture or TCP Input where applicable.
- Select Icecast as the stream destination.
- Enter the Icecast server URL, mount point and credentials exactly as supplied by your Icecast provider.
- Select a supported AAC bitrate and start the stream.
- Check SignalCaster’s Activity Log and listen through the Icecast listener URL.
Field labels and accepted URL formats should be confirmed against the installed version and the official Icecast setup page.
If you have digiSTREAM SHOUTcast instead
Use a documented SHOUTcast-capable application or contact digiSTREAM about available options. This is an informational article, not a claim that SignalCaster can connect directly to your SHOUTcast server.
