VirtualDJ Audio Is Too Quiet

Troubleshoot low broadcast volume in VirtualDJ without simply pushing levels into clipping.

VirtualDJ Audio Is Too Quiet

If your digiSTREAM stream sounds substantially quieter than other stations, first verify the signal path before increasing gain aggressively.

  • Check the master output level in VirtualDJ.
  • Check individual deck/channel levels.
  • Check the gain of the tracks being played.
  • Check whether an external mixer or audio interface is reducing the master signal.
  • Compare the local VirtualDJ master level with the level reaching the broadcast path.
Avoid the easy mistake: Increasing every gain control at once can create clipping and distortion rather than clean loudness.

For a professional-sounding stream, aim for a healthy signal with sufficient headroom rather than trying to make every meter stay permanently at the maximum.
