Troubleshoot Windows Firewall, VPN, network, and connectivity problems affecting VirtualDJ SHOUTcast broadcasts.

VirtualDJ Firewall and Network Troubleshooting

When VirtualDJ cannot connect or repeatedly loses its connection, Windows or another network component may be interfering with the connection.

  1. Confirm the computer has normal Internet access.
  2. Temporarily disconnect from a VPN and test again.
  3. Open Windows Defender Firewall and confirm VirtualDJ is allowed to communicate on the networks you use.
  4. Check third-party antivirus/security software for application blocking.
  5. If possible, test with a wired connection instead of Wi-Fi.
  6. Verify the digiSTREAM server address and port are reachable.
Do not confuse two different broadcasts: VirtualDJ can broadcast directly from your computer, or it can broadcast to an Internet radio server. For a digiSTREAM station, the radio-server method is normally the relevant one.
